What is A Life Coach?

Unlike a therapist, a life coach is a professional who helps individuals achieve their personal and professional goals by providing guidance, support, systems, and accountability.

They work with clients to help them identify their values, clarify their goals, and develop a plan of action to achieve those goals.

Life coaching is a relatively new profession, and there is no universal definition of what a life coach is or does.

However, most life coaches operate under the assumption that people have the resources they need to achieve their goals, but may need help tapping into those resources and overcoming obstacles along the way.

What DO Life CoachES DO?

Life coaches use a variety of tools and techniques to help their clients achieve their goals, including goal setting, visualization, positive affirmations, and accountability.

They may also help clients identify and overcome limiting beliefs and negative thought patterns that may be holding them back.

WhO Is Life CoachING FOR?

Life coaching can be applied to a wide variety of areas, including personal growth, career development, relationships, health and wellness, and spirituality.

Life coaches may specialize in one or more of these areas, or they may take a more holistic approach and work with clients on multiple areas of their lives.

One of the key benefits of working with a life coach is the personalized attention and support that they provide.

Life coaches work one-on-one with clients, tailoring their approach to the individual's specific needs and goals.

They provide a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, and they offer honest feedback and encouragement.

Another benefit of working with a life coach is the accountability they provide.

Life coaches help clients set specific, measurable goals and develop a plan of action to achieve those goals.

They then hold clients accountable for following through on their commitments, providing support and encouragement along the way.

Therapy VS. Life CoachING?

In our recent blog post Life Coaching Vs.Therapy, we go deep in the pros and cons of each and when to hire one of the other.

Life coaching is not clinical therapy, although it may share some similarities with therapy and uses therapeutic tools and techniques.

While therapy focuses on healing past traumas and addressing mental health issues, life coaching is future-focused and goal-oriented.

Life coaches do not diagnose or treat mental health disorders, and they do not prescribe medication.

Training and Certification of Life Coaching?

In order to become a life coach, individuals typically undergo training and certification through a recognized coaching program.

There are many different coaching programs available, ranging from short-term online courses to longer-term in-person programs.

Some coaching programs are more focused on specific niches, such as business coaching or health and wellness coaching, while others take a more general approach.

The International Coach Federation (ICF) is the leading professional organization for life coaches, and they offer a certification program that is widely recognized in the coaching industry.

To become an ICF-certified coach, individuals must complete a certain number of training hours, log a certain number of coaching hours, and pass a rigorous exam.

One of the biggest differences in our Life Coaching method is that we combine both Life Coaching and Traditional Therapy.

Through years of researching, certification, and practicing the leading methods of therapy and coaching; we sought to combine the best of the best practices in an all encompassing experience that can be customized for you.
